As I said on Facebook, it’s been a totally crazy week. I even started a post yesterday titled “Neglect”…and still didn’t finish it. Whoops. Sorry, friends – you know I still love you!!
This week’s MVP is a tie for two different people: Walter and my mom. They both killed it.
Last week, as I mentioned in this post, my mom and I decided that we needed to keep each other accountable. She was having a rough time as well, so she suggested that we e-mail each other every day with the food we ate, point values included. We’ve talked about this before, but we have never done it as diligently as we did this week. There were so many moments when I thought about eating something (see: incredible post-recital food spread, Special K cracker chips when I wasn’t hungry at all, late night snacks when I was completely out of points) that I was able to resist because I knew that Mom would read about it later. And when she weighed in at WW on Wednesday, she was down a pound!! GO MOM! We’re keeping this little habit up, because we really, really helped each other.
Walter also wins MVP this week because of many reasons, but the main one happened last night. After an absolutely incredible REVEL performance at Ballet Austin, we all went to Garrido’s, which is just down the street. They have absolutely wonderful modern Mexican food and delicious drinks. WRG reminded me that part of the reason I was probably up last week at WW was because I had drank the night before. So, I stayed away from Garrido’s delicious margaritas completely, and I only had 3 chips. THREE. After the third, I leaned over to Walter and said, “That was my last chip.” About 5 minutes later, when our food still hadn’t arrived, I leaned over to him again and said, “I want another chip.” He looked at me, put his hand on my arm, and said, “No, you don’t.” I looked slightly defeated, and then I promptly got over it. As I reached for the water pitcher, Walter thought I was going for the chip basket – and he stuck his hand out to block me! He was determined to prevent me from having another chip, even if it meant facing my chip-wanting wrath. That’s true love, there, folks. (He also almost knocked over the water pitcher. It was simultaneously terrifying and awesome.)
Oh, and he’s also MVP because of this magical meal last Sunday, that was just sitting on the table, ready to go when I got back from the Wind Ensemble concert:
Salad with smoked salmon, cucumbers, carrots, mushrooms, bell peppers, and WW cheese with a Low Fat Sesame Ginger dressing. It was amazing.
So here are my STATS for this week:
Weight loss this week: 4.4 pounds
Current weight: 204.4 pounds
TOTAL weight loss: 31.4 pounds
Because of a tracking-filled week, I have now lost over 30 POUNDS! And you know what that means….PHOTOS! All I will tell you is that they will happen. And they will be silly. But that’s all I can tell you right now. :)
Lastly, it’s wildflower season in Austin and, since we’ve actually had some RAIN lately, it’s been absolutely beautiful. This is one of my favorites – just wanted to leave you with a little more beauty:
